Pray that all of you had a very blessed summer. We were blessed with a wonderful family vacation and opportunities to spend time with our great grandson. This period of time was one of thanking God for all that He does through us and for us. God showed us that He cares about the big things and the little things in our daily lives. We have an awesome God!!
I would like to share some material that I read this summer. The book is called God’s Greatest Gifts, His Word, His Name and His Blood. It is written by Joyce Meyer. In this article I will write about God’s Word which you know from previous articles is a favorite topic I love to write about.
John 1:1, 4-5 tells us that “in the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ) and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself…In Him was Life and the Life was the Light of mankind. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it and is unreceptive to it]. This Scripture comes from the Amplified Bible.
One great reason Satan hates and fears the Word of God so strongly is because it is light. Satan only exists in darkness. It is vital for all children of God to learn and to use the Word of God because it is a spiritual weapon. Knowing the truth in God’s Word sets us free to knowing the true knowledge of Him, His ways and His character.
God’s Word tells us that Satan seeks to build strongholds in our minds. Strongholds are nothing but Satan‘s lies that are believed. Anyone who believes these lies is deceived. When a person believes that wrong is right, that evil is good, they have fallen into the enemy’s deception.
As Joyce Meyer writes:“No one will ever live a truly victorious life without being a sincere student of the Word of Almighty God. We will walk in victory if we do what the Lord says. As God’s children we are empowered as we dwell in the presence of the Lord. Spending regular, quality time with God is one of the most important things we as believers can learn to do.Practically speaking, this could mean that you get up in the morning and while taking a shower, you begin confessing or singing the Word. Perhaps on the way to work you listen to a good teaching or music that is filled with the Word. The Bible is even available on CDs or your phone if you want to listen to it while doing your work around the house. You should hear anointed preaching and teaching regularly. Several times a week is not too often, especially if you have a lot of problems. Remember the more you leave your mind free to wander around or become idle, the more the devil will try to fill it. Keep it filled with the Word, and you will have less trouble.”
Knowing and choosing God’s Words sets us free from the lies of Satan, sickness, disease and poverty. Everything we need to be overcomers and victorious comes from God’s Word, His Name and His Blood.
God Bless You, Always
