The Healing Corner

March 17, 2020 //  by St. David's

We read in Hebrews Chapter13:8,”Jesus Christ is always the same yesterday, today and forever.” In First John 3:8 we read “The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil (has done).”

(Readings are from the Amplified Bible.)
Now if God’s truth is not in these verses then we do not even have to get out of bed in the morning. It is because these words from God are true that we can not only rise from our bed but also live a victorious life!

I’ve mentioned in other articles how important it is for all of us to know who we are in Jesus and what we have through Jesus. We have as spirit-filled, blood-bought children of God the capability of operating with a “COMMANDING POWER”. We have the Word of Jesus, the Name of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus.

Jesus often went off by Himself to spend time in prayer with His Father. Jesus, knowing that His prayers had been heard, then put action into His Words. Now let us look at John 11:41-43. “So they took away the stone. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, ‘Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. Yes, I know You always hear and listen to Me, (We should believe this about our prayers also) but I have said this on account of and for the benefit of the people standing around, so that they may believe that You did send Me.’ When He had said this, He shouted with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!

Jesus here is giving a command. Throughout the pages of the Gospel, we see Jesus commanding. In Mark 4, when the disciples woke Jesus during the storm on the Sea of Galilee, did He get up and hold a prayer meeting? No, he looked out across the water and commanded, “Peace be still” (v.39).When Jesus drove the money changers out of the temple, the Bible says that He made a whip, turned over tables, and commanded the merchants to get out of His Father’s house! (See
John 2: 13-17.)

One of my favorite verses in Luke is found in 10:19,,”Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and (physical and mental strength and ability) over all the power that the enemy possesses: and nothing shall in any way harm you.” In the beginning of this Chapter we know that Jesus appointed seventy others and sent them ahead of Him. We read that the seventy returned with joy saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us
in your Name! That is still true today because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

We do not need to be afraid of Satan. We are able to use the Name of Jesus. We have been given the highest Name that has ever been known to mankind. The power of His Name belongs to every believer. Satan has tried to blind our eyes regarding our right to have authority and power over him. Jesus through His Word has made it plain that we have the authority and power to command Satan to, “Get out of here! Desist in your operations!” Satan must obey our commands
in Jesus’ Name!

Please do not delay in putting commanding action into your words. Jesus has given us, as believers in Christ Jesus, the ability to command the enemy to leave and do no harm. Remember God is waiting for us to act.

Let Us Always Give Thanks to Almighty God,
Carol Williams
