Parish Update from the Discernment Committee

To the people of St. David’s,

On behalf of the entire Discernment Team, thank you for your prayers and support as we wind our way through the maze of selecting our new priest. We continue to meet regularly to complete the work that has been predesignated by the Episcopal Church, which will eventually lead us to the person who will be the ‘best fit’ as our new Rector.

We are currently in the process of creating our parish survey, which, once completed, will be sent out via email to those who use electronic communication, and via postal mail to those who prefer to take pencil to paper and return their completed survey to the church office either in person or vial 1st class mail.

As every church is different, every congregation is also quite different, thus, a unique survey must be created to address our very own parish. Once your feedback has been tabulated, the results will be used to create a parish profile which will let all interested applicants know who we are, what we are about, how we choose to worship and to serve our community. We cannot stress enough the importance of having every parishioner complete the survey. Truly, for the first time in nearly three decades, we have an opportunity to put our personal stamp on what we want St. David’s to be and the leadership qualities that we need in our new priest.

We urge each individual parishioner and every parish family to pray about our discernment process and your role in it. Lastly, we ask that you continue to pray for St. David’s throughout this entire process, for the Vestry and for the Discernment Committee, and for Fr. Dave (and Judy ) Blank as he leads and ministers to us until our new priest is called.

Thank you again for your prayerful support AND for your commitment to participate in this process. The future of St. David’s Episcopal Church rides on it!

In His Name,

Gail Donovan & Gary Mugnolo
