In the midst of all the Christmas hype and preparations that will soon be upon us, the national church’s Forward Movement offers an easy way to get ready spiritually as well.
They choose a single word from the Sunday Lectionary readings for each day of the season of Advent. Shared in English and Spanish, they provide a brief daily meditation and visual image inspired by this word. The daily meditations are posted on AdventWord.org, emailed to participants, and shared on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. Participants can use the brief meditation for their own devotions and, if they wish, post thoughts to social media using the hashtag #AdventWord.
