From Fr. Dave’s Desk for Dec. 16, 2022

Dear Friends in Christ:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

This Sunday, members of St. David’s can participate in several activities prior to and following worship:

Breakfast will be served Sunday morning at 8:30am. Come join us for great food and fellowship dished up by chef Carey Draeger.

Following worship, we’ll be decorating the church for the Christmas season. Everybody is welcome to lend a hand!

St. David’s members will have an opportunity to bid our Music Director, Paul Dombroske a word of thanks and fond farewell for his 10 years of faithful service. We appreciate Paul’s musical leadership and direction of the choir and bell choir. Thank you, Paul for your ministry and talents! Paul has accepted a position at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jackson, MI.

A cookie exchange will be held also on Sunday. Please contact Andi Flitton for more information.

Don’t forget the rest of St. David’s worship schedule for the week.

We will hold our final Advent Wednesday service, soup and bread supper and presentation this Wednesday, Dec. 21. The presentation is “Staying Faithful in Times of Change.” The evening begins with worship at 6:00pm.

A candlelight service of Holy Communion will be held Saturday, December 24 at 4:00pm. Everyone is welcome to St. David’s Christmas Eve celebration.

The Nativity of Our Lord (Christmas Day) will be celebrated, Sunday, December 25 at 9:30am.

Thanks to all who provided items for the Hat and Mitten Tree. Collected were 44 hats, 19 pairs of mittens, 12 scarves/neck warmers, 2 ear warmers and 3 bags of doggie treats! These items will be donated to the Rescue Mission. Thanks everyone! Thanks to Jerry Williams for collecting these items and getting them to the Rescue Mission.

May this last week of Advent fill your heart with the love of God and the hope for a world that knows peace and joy.

Blessings,

Your Servant in Christ,

Father Dave+
