Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets for 2023

Jesus tells us we are to feed the poor. And YES, we are once again going to be filling Food Baskets to help do just what Jesus tells us to do!

“THANK YOU” to those of you who have donated in the past and have already donated to this year’s Food Basket Program! Each of you is a wonderful witness affirming the priority you place on reaching out to help local families in need.

For 2023, we will:

  • Support 20 local families for both holidays.

How you can help:

  • Donations. The good news is that there are sufficient funds available to cover this year’s costs. The even better news is that the Social Issues and Outreach Team is already thinking ahead for re-starting some past food programs next year, programs such as a monthly supplemental Food Gift card or possibly even an Easter food basket.  To help give life to these dreams, we ask you to consider making a donation to the Food Basket ministry this year.
  • Any amount you can give will be deeply appreciated. Please use the Food Basket envelopes located in the pews and on the table in the Narthex for your donation. If you write a check, please write “Food Baskets” in the memo line.
  • Set-up, Packing and Distribution. These will all take place in the Great Hall on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 10am-Noon for Thanksgiving and Saturday, Dec. 16 from 10am-Noon for Christmas. All are welcome for whatever time you can give. WE NEED YOU.

If you have any questions, please contact Jerry Williams (882-4142) or Gary Mugnolo (719-7112). Thank you, in advance, for giving generously of your time and money so that we can extend God’s love to these families.
